Abstract

Russian emigration in China in the 1920s — 1940s is considered in the article: attempts to unite the far Eastern branch of the Russian Diaspora, relations of its representatives with other centers of Russian emigration, problems of China's domestic political life, the specifics of the international situation in the far East and Central Asia that affect the process of uniting the emigrant community and hinder it. Considerable attention is paid to the role of the leaders of the Far Eastern emigration in the process of unification, their activities and contradictions. The role of former consuls of the Russian Empire, individual leaders of emigration, emigrant organizations, as well as the Chinese and Japanese authorities and the international community in this process is shown.
