The article discusses transformation of the Red Cross inherited by the Russian Provisional Government from imperial times into the Red Cross (the old organisation) working abroad to the present time. It also presents organisational forms society was operating through during the Civil War. Renewal of the Red Cross activities in 1921 on the prerevolutionary grounds is considered as having an integral role in creation of the Russia abroad. The article offers a graphical scheme of the Red Cross organisation in the period of the Civil War as well as a summary table of ROKK offices and their Heads in the interwar period of the 20th century. It also explains diplomatic background of the struggle to name the organisation the Russian Red Cross and the emergence of the “Old Organisation” addition.
