Abstract

The article is devoted to two historians of the Russian Diaspora in the USA: George Vernadsky and Michael Karpovich, their personal friendship and scientific cooperation. Future colleagues get to know each other as students at Moscow University and carried their friendship through the life. Also, until the death of Karpovich, their correspondence continued. The scientific cooperation of friends began in 1914 and resumed during the years of emigration. The article discusses joint projects of historians, analyzes their correspondence on the most important topics. The author of the article relies on a wide range of both published and unpublished sources. A number of them stored in the GARF are being put into scientific circulation for the first time.
