Abstract

The Article is written in the framework of the methodology of “personal history” and is devoted to the life of the famous teacher, public figure and organizer of school education of the Russian abroad Adelaide Vladimirovna Zhekulina (1866—1950). Its fate reflected all the dramatic vicissitudes of Russian history in the first half of the 20th century: revolution, Civil war, forced emigration. The article considers the influence of these and other events on the choice of life strategy of this extraordinary woman. The source base of this publication was published memoir documents, especially the memories of her grandson Alexei Borisovich Evreinov.
