Abstract

The article covers the activities of the Russian Red Cross Society (the old organization). In this connection, the life path of a number of doctors who worked in the institutions of the Red Cross abroad is being investigated. The article is written using both published sources, i.e. the ones published abroad between the two world wars, and archival materials. It stated that arrangement of medical assistance to refugees became the main task of the Red Cross abroad. The activities of Professors K. M. Sapezhko, V. N. Sirotinina and N. M. Popov, assistant professor V. N. Novikov, doctors S. K. Zhukov, Yu. I. Lodyzhensky, S. I. Popov, brothers and sisters Sapezhko in the institutions of the Red Cross was analyzed.
