Abstract

The situation in Syria remains one of the most difficult problems of international relations in the last 5 years. In many ways, the “Syrian question” is a factor not only determining the specifics of foreign policy courses of the Great Powers, but also the character of interstate relations. The article is devoted to the analysis of the main problems that arose in relations between Russia and Western countries in connection with the Syrian factor. This publication examines the extremely complex and contradictory character of the process of the peaceful liquidation of the “Syrian problem”, and determines the positions from which states consider this crisis.
