Abstract

The russophobia is not something the new, inexplicable, unusual phenomenon. In the world there are a lot of those who do not love the USA and Americans, Germany and Germans, France and the French, but these states exist, develop, and their citizens, except for separate cases, don't feel constant hostility from the neighbors at all. Otherwise with Russia. Against her economic sanctions work, obvious discrimination in the international affairs is observed, her deprive of full participation in the Olympic Games. The Swiss journalist and the public figure Gui Mettan whose book is the basis for this article, writes about the reasons existing on nowadays russophobia. The West always used the anti-Russian myths as weapon against Russia, pursuing the globalist aims. But the survivability of russophobia as the author of article emphasizes, speaks not only policy of the West. It is necessary to see sources of russophobia in Russia, the Russian state which seldom found mutual understanding with the Russian people. Unfortunately, this historical “heritage” has passed to modern Russia. The social dissociation existing for today in the Russian society interferes with his consolidation, formation of national unity and national consciousness that would allow to get rid of any “phobias” finally.
