Abstract

The article deals with the Russian-Austrian relations in the period of aggravation of the Eastern crisis in the 20s — 30s of the 19th century based on the analysis of the documents of Chancellor Metternich and his colleagues, the position of Austria is clarified, the changes in its policy in the Eastern question are studied, it is shown how the revolutionary events in Europe in the early 30s contributed to the rapprochement of the two countries and how this affected their policy in the Eastern question.
