Abstract

In the center of analysis are the protest reactions of the peasants of the Kaluga province on the basis of military mobilizations, food-procuring and other events conducted by the Bolsheviks in the village. The problem of interaction between the authorities and the peasantry in the revolutionary process of 1917—1922 is considered, including the system of special organs that supervise and stimulate the peasants to fulfill state duties. Conclusions are drawn about the origins, forms and dynamics of peasant protest, in particular, about uprisings and desertions.
