Abstract
This section studies changes in administrative, social and ethnic structure of Bashkiria in the second half of the 18th century. It also shows the process of formation of multinational population of the region, the development of mining construction, the participation of the peoples in wars, the character and the results of the social protest movement (the revolts of Batirsha and Pugachov).
