Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of archival materials related to the conflict in the landowner family of Fyodor and Alexandra Voeikov, which acquired the character of a secret state affair, in which top officials were involved and in which the final decision was made by Empress Catherine II. The documents in question are a valuable source on gender history, contain interesting information on the history of everyday life, patron-client and family relations, customs and worldview of the Russian nobility in the last quarter of the 18th century.
