Abstract
The spring of 2019 was fruitful in the sense of various academic events in which the stuff of the Institute of World History (RAS) played an active role. The review is devoted to the key international conferences of April — May 2019, held by the Institute, or organized with its direct participation. Among them the following: “75th Anniversary of the Liberation of Central-Eastern and Northern Europe from Nazism”; “Napoleon’s Époque: History and Image”; “Studying the History of Africa: People, Problems, Sources. 90th Anniversary of Africa’s First Research Program”; “In the Heart of Eurasia: Russia and Kazakhstan at Historic Crossroads”. Particular attention is paid to the conference held by the Center for African Studies (Institute of World History, RAS) and dedicated to the problems of source criticism and historiography of Africa.
