Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the accultural impact of the Orthodox churches of Akmola County at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries on the development of the Kazakh steppe. The article is written on the materials of the Fund of the Omsk Sacred Consistory of the Historical Archive of the Omsk Region, in which documents from 1722 to 1919 are presented. We were involved in the analysis of sources related to the construction of Orthodox churches in Akmola district. The main attention will be paid to the characterization of the process of building churches houses of church attendants in the territory of the county, which still exist in various distances from the capital of the Republic of Kazakhstan Astana. The authors will identify the main channels of acculturation, including religious and missionary activities, church and parish education, daily rural and religious practices, architectural and design transformation of urban and rural everyday life, the emergence of new activities and specialties, and the formation of a sense of a single civil society.
