Abstract
“Military Vendee” keeps a special place in the history of the French Revolution of 18th century. Western regions inhabitants, including nobles and peasants, uprising against certain measures of new republican authorities policy and its further suppression had worth at least 150 000 lives of French people. Among rebellions who called themselves “Catholic and Royalists army” were people of various estates, whose experience, mentality and motivations had not been identical. This article tries to examine the contradictions this variety had caused in vendeens day to day life and interaction, based on the memoires of madame marquise de La Rochejaquelin, who had been one of the “Military Vendee” participants.
