Abstract
The article examines distinctive features of Great Britain’s cultural diplomacy, its directions and common developmental trends. It considers British cultural institutions’ peculiarities, their independent nature and ways of funding. The author analyzes state, problems and perspectives of cultural cooperation between Russia and Great Britain. Author takes into consideration actualization of cultural interaction issues of two countries in the light of the UK-Russia Year of Language and Literature 2016 and Year of Culture 2014. Moreover, the article envisages main aspects of Anglo-Russian cultural dialogue during the governments of J. Major, T. Blair and G. Brown and its possible impact on the improvement of political climate of bilateral relations.
