Abstract
The article examines the notes on death and burial procedure of Christians in the Rus Primary Chronicle (Povest’ vremennykh let). The author analyzes the interval of time between the death and the funeral as well as the information about places of death and burial included or not included into the annals. After having analyzed the indications of burial procedure, the author gives an overview of the details of funeral procession reported by annalists. The observations made in the article can be used in studying both the Old Rus funeral rite and the Primary Chronicle as a historical source.
