Abstract

The article attempts to present registration party documents (limited to 25 communists enrolled in Zolochiv area, Lviv region, in 1939—1941) as a source material for establishing the social composition of Soviet Communist Party of the period, namely, the social identity and origins, nationality, level of education. The author considers specifications of registration party documents as a historical source and attempts to evaluate their practical significance as a source for studies in social history.
