Abstract
Considered one of the new directions of historical research, especially in the field of economic history — cliometrica. It emphasizes its interdisciplinary nature. It analyzes the role of humanitarian and natural Sciences in the studies in economic history. The history of the formation of quantitative history, shows the main stages of development of its historiography. Special attention is paid to the role of mathematical methods, computer models in historical research associated with quantitative history. The application of mathematical modeling in relation to real historical phenomena allows us to give an accurate assessment of historical events. Cliometrica combines economic theory, quantitative methods, counterfactual simulation and traditional techniques of economic history to explain economic processes.
