Abstract
In this article we explore the objects of furniture in the Art Nouveau style (the Spanish. "Modernism"), created in Catalonia in the late 19th — the early 20th century. The author studies the objects of furniture from the collections of the Museum of Catalan Modernism and the National Art Museum of Catalonia. A stylistic analysis of the furniture by the architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch, and by two furniture makers Gaspar Homar and Joan Busquets i Jané is undertaken. Characteristics of the style of each furniture maker, as well as the symbolic component of furniture decoration are studied.
