Abstract
The study examines the views of Roman Dmowski to the problems of the nation, state, national minorities. The national idea is fundamental in ideological heritage of Roman Dmowski and “narodovtsi”. Nevertheless, precise and unambiguous definition of the term would be vain to seek in the writings of ideologues of “endecja”. The article traces the evolution of the relationship Dmowski to the concept of “the people”. Polish state, according to the ideologist of “endecja”, is the property of the Polish people. Ethnic minorities also does not carry the moral and historical responsibility for the fate of the state, so the impact should be considered so the impact should be limited. The article discusses the relationship Dmowski to the problem of assimilation of ethnic minorities, particularly Ukrainians, Belarusians, and Jews.
