Abstract
The article reveals the features of the crisis in the Soviet-British relations caused by the diplomatic note which Lord Curzon, the head of the Foreign Office, addressed to the Soviet Government in Moscow in May, 1923. The author makes a compelling case for a new interpreta-tion of this episode in the eventful history of bilateral relations attesting to their contradictory nature and complex dynamics.
