Abstract
The article deals with the specifics of publications on the Internet devoted to Ukrainian figure of the beginning of XX century Symon Petliura, and features of the discussions on the Internet. Following the publications, the author focuses on forming of the image of Petliura and on issues such as the signing of the Warsaw Pact of 1920 between Symon Petliura and Joseph Pilsudski as well as the Jewish pogroms in Ukraine during the Civil War. Analysis of the materials showed that Internet publications are classified in the same way as any publicism and adopt all of its features. The main difference between them - fast and often free access to various sites on the Web (for example personal blogs) that allows to publish any material, regardless of professional qualification of the authors.
