The author of the article analysis an unknown archive document A Short Description of Deeds and of Special Characteristics of European Ministers, Residing in Constantinople, written in 1752 by Nicolay Bouïdiï, the interpreter of Russian Embassy. This document was a result of Bouïdiï’s long-term examination of relations between the Osman government and European diplomats, especially the French ones, in the mid-18th century.
