Abstract
The article examines the influence of the theory and practice of Wilsonism on the US–Russian and US–Soviet relations of the first half of the XX century. The author appreciates the role of axiological aspect or the so-called “value” judgments about Russia that guided the US leaders in their policies towards Russia.
