Abstract
The mathematical methods in history dates back several decades. Most often, however, this method was used in the study of social and economic problems. In our article we are talking about the use of mathematical methods in research of political history. The application of quantitative methods in the study of the history of the English Parliament of the XVII century allowed objectively to illustrate the process of forming of political parties Tory and the Whigs.
