Abstract
The article aims at the analysis of the 15th-century’s chronicles devoted to the history of Joan of Arc: the Chroniques of P. de Cagny, the Chronique de Charles VII of J. Chartier, the Histoire de Charles VII of Th. Basin, the Chronique of E. de Monstrelet and especially the local chronicles of Orleans written after Joan of Arc’s nullification trial of 1455—1456 — the Chronique de la Pucelle and the Compilation sur la mission, les victoires et la capture de Jeanne la Pucelle. The author analyses these documents to show the features of use of the direct speech in such historical sources, the authors’ concept of miracle, the features of the discerning of true and false prophets as applied to the history of Joan of Arc.
