Abstract
The article is dedicated to the textual history of the genealogies of Princes Mezetsky in the 16th—17th century pedigree books. The information from these 11 variants of genealogies gives us a great opportunity to discover not only the new history of Mezetsky family but the evolution of the relations between Muscovy and the Grand Duchy of Lithuania as Mezetsky lands used to be the border zone between these two states during the 16th and 17th centuries. As a result of the research we will obtain a full text-historical analysis showing us the features of the two textual traditions: the Lithuanian and the Moscow versions of the text. The second one can also be divided into three recensions, characterized by the predominance of one or another related branches of the Mezetsky family.
