Abstract

The article is devoted to the investigation of Aeschines’ parentage and political views. The purpose of the paper is detection of the socio-political group that was led by Aeschines. The author concludes that categorical dividing of the Athenian politicians of the 4th B.C. into representatives of the «old» and the «new» elite does not completely reflect the whole spectrum of political forces in that period.
