Abstract
This article deals with the problems of periodization and in the pre-ceramic and early Neolithic in South East Asia, in particular, in Vietnam. The author comes to the conclusion that Early Palaeolithic can be traced back to ca. 300 mill. B.C., Late Palaeolithic – 28–27 mill. B.C., Mesolithic – from 20– to 12–7 mill. B.C. in different regions, Early Neolithic – 8–5 mill B.C.
