Abstract
The article gives summary of the main contemporary approaches to the concept of the Reconquest, and describes the essential content of this concept in the context of the XIIth c. In this century the connection is revealed between the idea of the restoration of the political domination of Christians and their faith in the lands of the Iberian Peninsula and a political and military practice. Thus, the main trend in the experts interpretation of the concept of the Reconquest is that it is reduced chronologically, and in fact – resolves itself into the military and the political process.
