In article «Monuments as a phenomenon of social memory of city community: destruction and restoration problems» the concept "monument", the points of view of various authors that is a monument is analyzed. History and culture monuments are considered as a phenomenon of social memory. The difficult situation with protection of monuments in the city of Ekaterinburg is considered by us as an example of functioning of social memory of city community
