Abstract
This article was written on the materials of author’s interviews with a number of modern Russian historians. It presents some results of search of the answers to the questions which are connected with professional activity of Russian historians today. Do the Russian historians consider themselves as the members of professional united community? What is the sense of existence of such community? What are the methodological preferences of modern Russian historians? Does the historian need a methodological reflection? The historians M.S. Bobkova, L.I. Borodkin, M.V. Ponomarev, L.P. Repina, M.F. Rumiantseva, I.M. Savelieva, P.Y. Uvarov, V.K. Finn, K.V. Khvostova think over this given point.
