Abstract
This article deals with the Russian historiography of the so-called «Tsar laws or the laws of the twelve tables.” The author emphasizes the role of law and legislative authorities. He deals with the collective work by Bogolepov, Pokrovskiy, Khvostov. Much attention is paid to Nikolskiy work about the laws of the twelve tables. The author reviews the works by Netushil about the institutes of the the state power as well as the works by Azarevich and Kagarov devoted to the fight of patricians and plebeians . The author’s point of view is that the fundamental work on sacral law is the Bertnikov publication. The special emphasis is made on the works by Shtaerman E.M, Mayak I.L, Dementieva V.V, Smorchkova A.M. Some lawyers publications deserve his attention. Such names as Grabar V.E, Savelieva V.A etc are worth mentioning. Finally ,the author characterizes his own publications due to ancient Rome legislationin a short way.
