Abstract
This article is devoted to influence of Cold War epoch on the formation of political views on Tropic Africa among population of Soviet “province”. It is based on the materials of South Urals archives — State Archive of Orenburg region and Center of documentation on contemporary history of Orenburg region. The author used also materials of regional press — “South Ural” and “Komsomol Tribe” published in Orenburg. The author proves that in the 1950s — 1960s party and State institutions made efforts to form “ideologically correct” image of Tropic Africa among Soviet population.
