Abstract
The article focuses on the modern mythology in “national meta-story” as cultural-ideological complex, which is connected with different types of identities. The author uses example of today myths about “Slavic paganism” and shows that, for the one hand, history can be the base for myth, for the other hand, there is a recursion — “myth about myth”. It means that the content of recreated “ancient” myth is a subject for transition with secondary interpretations and ideologies. These kinds of myths, as a rule, affect urgent topics for society.
