Abstract
A little-known source on the history of Russian-Turkish relations in the era of Peter the Great is introduced. It is the daily journal of ambassadors at Sublime Porte Shafirov and Sheremetev. Unlike statejnye spiski (reports) of the embassy (composed in the early 1720s in St. Petersburg), the diarium was written in Istanbul by one of the employees of the Russian diplomatic mission. This document contains a brief list of events from July 11, 1711 to April 15, 1713, and supplements (and in some cases clarifies) the information contained in statejnye spiski of Russian diplomats.
