Abstract
In this material the key events of the history of the Crimea between 2014 and 2016 have been considered. The geopolitical context of socio-political crisis in Ukraine of 2013—2014 has been characterized. Causes and consequences of the «Euromaidan» have been disclosed. The origins, course of events and the value of «Crimean Spring» have been analyzed. The problems and prospects of development of the Crimea as part of Russia have been highlighted. The main directions and projects of social-economic development of the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol as subjects of the Russian Federation have been described.
