Abstract
The article discusses features of the culture and life of the Eskimos as well as the cultural interaction between the local population and Russian missionaries and travelers. The article is based on data obtained from research expeditions to the interior of Alaska. The featured expedition was led by Russian Hero M. G. Malakhov, with the scientific supervision of Doctor of Historical Sciences A. Y. Petrov and the oversight of Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk (Kapalin). This article used information from archives, museums and libraries.
