Abstract
The article is devoted to the problem of bilateral Russia-Uzbekistan relations in the Post-soviet period. The article provides a comprehensive evaluation of the place and role of Uzbekistan in the regional system of modern international relations, economic and geo-strategic potential of the country in the Central Asian region as well. The author analyses the evolution of bilateral cooperation from the elements of antagonism in the beginning of 1990’s to the level of strategic partnership, evaluating the dynamics of development of relations between two countries in all the spheres of cooperation.
