Abstract
This article discusses these inherent to any war theme, which in Soviet times were “unpopular” as the fate of prisoners of war, perfidy, and repatriation. According to the authors, was captured by one of the instruments of Hitler's genocide of Soviet citizens, and only the second since 1942, the purpose of prison camps was the work of the German industry. The article reveals the features of Soviet policy toward the Soviet citizens who fell into German captivity, as well as prisoners of war from the forces of Germany and its allies in the USSR. Another important topic raised in the article, is a collaboration with the enemy (Collaboration). The article also provides an objective assessment of the phenomenon of repatriation of Soviet citizens (prisoners of war, ostarbeiters and collaborators) in the USSR, the Russian authorities' attitude to the problem of social problems of Soviet prisoners of war during World War II.
