Abstract
Quadripartite Agreement on West Berlin of 3 September 1971 was an important event in the history of international relations during the period of détente of 1970’s. The special position of France, which had serious differences of opinion with the USA and Great Britain, and thus stands for the development of fruitful cooperation with the Soviet Union, led to the fact that Paris during the negotiations defended moderate positions that helped to bring the parties together and will come to a final compromise.
