Abstract
The subject of the article is a phenomenon of jurisdiction in Early Stuart England. A conflict of jurisdictions was an integral part of a multilevel conflict between Common law and Civil law institutions and led to establishing of more strict and definite jurisdictional limits. A number of legal instruments, such as writs of prohibition, Habeas corpus, praemunire, writs of tort and misdemeanor regulated jurisdictional clashes between Civil law and Common law courts.
