Abstract
The Article is devoted to the discussion of the historical science of the problems of Anglo-Russian relations 16th — 18th centuries. Special attention is paid to the coverage of such issues as «occasional» the advent of the British off the coast of Muscovy in the reign of Ivan IV, English draft of the colonization of the Russian North in 1612 and others. The author is also drawn to the poorly explored issues in the historiography of the origin of anglomania in Russia, xenophobia in the English-Russian relations, and the Westernization of the political elite of the Russian state.
