Abstract
Among the servants of Edward IV’s household there are 29 people related with him by kinship to his father, Richard, duke of York, to his mother, Cecily Neville, and to his wife, Elizabeth Woodville. Most of these persons were related with the king through marriage: only seven were blood relatives. Edward IV created a group of servants, related not only by relationship ‘master-servant’, but also by family ties. The king gave to his relatives the opportunity to take either the most prestigious offices, or the most important posts connected to the financial sector.
