Abstract
The article is devoted to the analysis of the Soviet and American perception of their respective educational systems after the WWII. The author studies the influence of ideology on common people’s idea of the outer world. He points out the main channels through which the information about the world leading educational systems was carried. Great attention is paid to magazine and newspaper publication as the main factor of influence on mass consciousness.
