Abstract
This article explores the anti-Bolshevik coalition’s complex and contradictory images of “friends” and “enemies” at the crucial turning point of the Russian Civil war and foreign intervention. These perceptions were the basis for Western Powers’ Russian policy at Versailles conference and resulted in policies that were both controversial and impracticable.
