Abstract
We think that we know - “Tudor myth” about the Wars of the Roses was invented in the beginning of 16th century to confirm the legacy of Tudor dynasty. The purpose of this article is to revise this stereotype. We can argue that the “Tudor myth” never was a definite conception. All the rulers of the 15th – 16th centuries gave their own version of dynastic strife. Yorkist myth of 1460s was changed by Henry VII in 1480s, and Henry VII’s myth was changed by Henry VIII in 1530s. The final step was made by Shakespeare in 1590s.
