Abstract
The castilian chronicles of the Catholic kings don’t give a decisive answer to the question about the figure of Ferdinand II of Aragon. The authors see his personality and his role in the government of Castile in a different way. F.de Pulgar, for example, describes Ferdinand as a consort of Isabella rather a king of Castile, the annalist sympathizes with the queen Isabella throughout the chronicle. Vice versa Ferdinand becomes a successor of Castile and an ideal governor in the annals of A.de Palencia. But all the authors consider Ferdinand as skilful warrior and strategist who put the end to the Reconquista.
