Abstract
The War between Bolivia and Paraguay in Chaco (1932-1935) was the most prominent boundary dispute in Latin America in XX century. Obviously, the studies of durational international mediators’ diplomatic efforts aimed to the settlement of the conflict are of great interest. Argentina, the Washington Commission of Neutrals (the USA, Columbia, Cuba, Mexico, Uruguay), the ABCP (Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Peru), and the League of Nations tried to bring about the conflict by intermediary diplomatic methods. It was the first time when LN interfered a military conflict in Western hemisphere. The rivalry of these centers let Bolivia and Paraguay use the tactic of maneuvering. Regardless the failures of talks, the important experience for the future diplomatic activity had been accumulated in the process. The talks had contributed to the development of mediation techniques and finding the appropriate trade-offs. The end to the boundary conflict had been put by the Chaco Peace Conference (1935-1938). The article is published in Spanish.
