Abstract
The article discusses the situation with the studies of U.S. economic history in Russia. The author stresses the gap between the serious achievements of economic historians of Russia and the virtual absence of research in the field of U.S. economic history. Nevertheless, there are fields where historians may show their strength, among them history of private and public enterprises, state economic policies, economic results of migrations and colonization, paternalism and comparative labor ethics, international economic ties, institutional change in the transitional periods.
